An NFT art project of cosmic life origin by Lulu Li
“Panspermia” is an NFT art project by Lulu Li. Using artificial intelligence / machine learning tools like StyleGan2, Lulu Li explores the possibilities of universal life origins narrative with unhinged imaginations of the alien / xeno life-forms may exist in the deep cosmic primordial space.
Pan”: “all”, “Sperma”: “seed”. Panspermia as theory that life exists throughout the universe. Either life particles dusts were carried by meteorites, comets, or our spaceships, the unstoppable force of life are always permeating into unthinkable places even the entirety of universe.
Often when star gazing these days, one also gaze into the “future”, a future Space X has envisioned for our earthlings - human habitat on Mars, or eventually becoming multi-planetary civilization. One can not help wondering what astro/cosmic life form could be when one day we are really out there “encountering” and perhaps“co-living” with. And even if we ever encounter such life forms “face to face”, are we able to recognize it?
These life forms are generated with self trained machine learning models - StyleGAN2. by working with the machine’s “mind” - “the latent space” - a multi dimensional mathematical space where semantic vectors of what’s “learnt” are registered and stored. - for lack of better metaphor, it’s like deep diving into cosmos’ primordial soup, where abundance of life forms are found with constant startlements.
